Lake Blue Ridge (3290 acres) hosts a variety of recreational, educational and scenic opportunities. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Chattahoochee National Forest, the 3,290-acre lake extends up the Toccoa River providing power, flood control, navigation and recreation for thousands of people.
With over 100 miles of shoreline and is one of the purest lakes in the TVA System, it offers some activities surrounding the lake such as boating, fishing for both warm & cold water fish( such as crappie, bass, sunfish, walleye, trout, & catfish abundant), skiing, sailing, swimming, camping, picnicking, and scenic views.
From Mountain Getaway Cabin Rentals office take I 515 South to traffic lights at Conoco & KFC, turn Left, go to 4-way stop sign & turn Left. Travel Old Hwy 76 until you come to Dry Branch Rd on the Right, turn onto Dry Branch Rd. you'll find a boat ramp, Green Creek Swimming Beach & Campground, (this route will take you to Aska Rd as well). Or Continue on Old Hwy 76 to the entrance of the Lake Blue Ridge Marina on the Right, a full service marina with rentals, snacks, fuel, sales, boat ramps & more.
The National Forest Recreation Area at Morganton Point is minutes from most of the cabins & offers swimming, a white sand beach, picnic areas, a bath house, and a boat ramp. Hike around Lake Blue Ridge through the Chattahoochee National Forest. From Mountain Getaway Cabin Rentals office go North on I 515 to Hwy 60, turn Left on 60, go to stop sign, turn Left toward Morganton. Once in Morganton follow signs.
There are even larger lakes nearby, including 4180-acre Lake Nottely a well known for great fishing and 7000-acre Lake Chatuge, head north of Blue Ridge to Hiawassee, GA to beautiful Lake Chatuge, a well known boating, fine dining on the lake, and home of the popular Georgia Mountain Fair. The lakes offer a marina & boat ramps as well.
